This course follows the Edexcel International GCSE English Literature (4ET1) specification and invites students to explore some of the most powerful stories, characters, and ideas in literature.
We study a wide range of texts, including Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, To Kill a Mockingbird, and a rich anthology of poetry. Students will analyse character, theme, structure and language, exploring how writers create meaning and why it matters. We divide the specification into two sections, which students can study sequentially over a two-year period or concurrently in our one-year fast-track literature course.
Part A: Modern Novel, Poetry Anthology Poems and Poetry Unseen
Part B: Shakespeare, Modern Drama and the remaining poems.
Through discussion-led classes, scaffolded assignments, and individual feedback, students develop the critical reading and comparative writing skills needed to succeed in the exam—and beyond.
