Film is one of the most powerful art forms of the last century—an emotional, cultural, and creative medium that shapes how we see the world.
Film is more than entertainment—it’s a mirror of society, a tool for storytelling, and a dynamic force that influences how we think, feel, and act. This course explores cinema as both an art form and a cultural product, giving students the analytical and creative tools to appreciate, critique, and contribute to the world of film.
Whether you’re passionate about visual storytelling, interested in global perspectives, or drawn to creative production, A Level Film Studies offers a unique blend of theory, history, and hands-on practice.
🗂️ WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
In our small, live, discussion-based online classes, students explore a diverse range of films from different periods, cultures, and styles. They will:

🎬 Analyse film form: cinematography, editing, sound, performance, and mise-en-scène
🌍 Explore historical, cultural, and political contexts and how they shape meaning
🧠 Examine themes of ideology, representation, and audience
